Q. How can I request an itemized bill?
You can request an itemized bill online via the Itemized Bill Request form or
by contacting Customer Service at (904) 202.2092. If requesting an itemized bill via phone, please be prepared to provide:
- patient name
- patient date of birth
- patient account number
- facility name that provided service
Q. How can I update my billing address?
You can request an address update online via the
Address Update form or by contacting Customer Service at

Q. How can I request a price quote?

Q. How may I pay my bill?
Baptist Health offers you several options for paying your bill. You may pay your bill
online, US mail, by phone or by visiting the discharge cashier at the hospital that you received services. For complete details please visit our

Q. What credit cards does Baptist Health accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express
Q. What information will I need to pay my bill online?
A. When paying your bill online you will need to know the Guarantor's date of birth and social security number. If you are not sure who the Guarantor is on the account, you will find this information in the Account Summary section of your statement.
Q. Is there a fee for making my payment online?
No. There is not a fee applied for making a pyment online.
Q. Is this website safe for credit card transactions?
Yes. The credit card transaction software used by Baptist Health is Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant.
Q. I tried paying my bill online, but it's not working. Why not?
Although all outstanding Baptist Health hospital bills will eventually be enabled for online billpaying, currently, only bills generated since March 2, 2009, are recognized by the online billpay system. If your bill was generated before March 2 , 2009, you can still pay by phone (credit card), mail or in our cashier's office at any Baptist Health hospital. To pay your bill by phone via credit card or to speak with a Customer Service Representative, call

Q. Who can I talk to regarding questions or concerns with my bill?
A Customer Service Representative will be happy to assist you with any problems or concerns that you have regarding your bill. You can speak to a live representative Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm by calling

Q. How can I receive a copy of my medical records?
If you would like to request a copy of your medical records, you may contact our Medical Records Department at

Q. Does Baptist Health accept my insurance plan?
Baptist Health participates in most managed care plans.
A
list of participating providers for each Baptist Hospital facility is provided for your convenience.
Please note that this is not a guarantee of payment or coverage from your insurance company. If you have a question as to whether or not we participate in the plan you have, please check with your insurer.
Q. What if I get more than one bill?
You may receive bills from other healthcare professionals that are not employed by Baptist Health. These may include your doctor, anesthesiologists, radiologists or pathologists. Each physician who participated in your care will bill you separately for service provided. Questions concerning these bills should be directed to that
provider's billing office.
Q. Will I be required to pay anything when I arrive at the hospital?
Upon admission, if you have medical insurance, you may be asked to pay a deductible or co-pay depending upon your insurance plan. If you do not have health care coverage, you will be asked to pay the full amount of your estimated charges at the time of service. If you cannot afford to make the payment in full, you will be asked to speak to one of our Financial Counselors to establish a payment plan.

Q. Who should I contact if I have an insurance related problem?
Please contact your insurance company with any insurance related concerns. Phone number to contact your insurance company is usually located on your insurance card.
Q. How will I know if my insurance company has paid my bill?
After your insurance receives and processes your claim you will receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) explaining how your claim was handled. The EOB will show amount of payment, patient responsibility and/or denials. If there is a patient responsibility due, we will send you a statement.
Q. Why didn't my insurance pay for some services?
Insurance policies vary on what services are covered under your plan. Consult with your employer and/or health insurance company directly to know and understand your specific coverage.
Q. Do I need to let my insurance company know that I will be receiving services before I come to the hospital?
Insurance coverage varies between plans and employer groups. It is best if you contact your insurance to discuss any pre-certification requirements prior to your arrival.

Q. How do I know if my insurance company will pay for services provided by all professional providers (e.g. anesthesiologist, radiologist, and pathologist) involved in my treatment?
Contact your insurance company directly. Baptist Health does not know if each professional provider is contracted with your insurance company.
Q. How do I know if my insurance company will pay for the hospital services?
Contact your insurance company directly. Their phone number is usually located on your health insurance card.
Q. What if I disagree with how much my insurance paid on my bill?
Contact your insurance company directly. Be sure to note the representative you have spoken to. If an error has been made, request the insurance company provide you a timeframe of when the correct payment will be received. If your insurance indicated the bill was paid correctly, request information on how to appeal the decision. An appeal will allow the payment to be reconsidered, however this is not a guarantee payment will be made.
Q. Can I still go to Baptist Health if my insurance plan is out of network?
In cases of emergency, go to the nearest emergency room. Your insurance will generally cover the ER costs or will transfer you to an in-network hospital once you are stable. For out patient services, you may be required to pay a larger out of pocket portion on your bill. To be sure, contact your insurance company directly to discuss.
