The Library for Healing is located on the first floor of the Tower across from the Tower elevators, the Healing Art Gallery, near the aquarium and Surgical Waiting area. We understand that health and healing involve the body, mind, spirit and relaxation. We offer a range of materials including books, magazines and CDs and CD players to help you learn more about important health concerns and the healing process.

Our services include: Free WiFi service Health & Wellness - Disease and Condition Resources for borrowing Health information assistance Computers with Internet access Magazines and leisure reading Photocopier Healing music CDs, and players that may be taken on loan to patient's rooms Healing, soothing and relaxing environment with very comfortable, plush chairs No charge for services Recommendations on trustworthy resource for health information needs such as websites like www.medlinePlus.gov

MedlinePlus.gov is a great website created for consumers by the U.S. National Library for Medicine. It is free and accepts no advertising. You will find quality health information from reliable sources in English and Spanish and also in many other languages.

Library Policies and Hours

All our materials circulate for short periods (one to seven days) to registered borrowers. Assistance is available for visitors with specific health care needs. To provide the best healing environment for all, children under 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Heart Hospital Library Location

The Heart Library, located on the 4th floor of the Heart Hospital on the Baptist Downtown campus, also provides online access to health information.

Free WiFi at Baptist Health Center Downtown

Your time is valuable. That's why Baptist Downtown is offering FREE WiFi service. While in any of our hospital waiting areas, inpatient units or outpatient sites, you can catch up on e-mail, connect with friends and family, or get news and entertainment through your personal wireless devices. The entire hospital is a wireless Internet hot spot, giving patients and visitors the ability to access the Internet free.

The public library offers more than 30,000 e-books and audiobooks for use on a PC or Mac computer and popular mobile devices such as a smartphone, MP3 player and e-book readers.
